Internet Week, hosted by the Ministry of Public Telecommunications, is a series of meetings spanning a period of one week that revolves around information including solutions on broad topics on the internet e.g. ICT and Internet Governance. The event is scheduled to commence on the 9th of October, 2017 through 13th of October, 2017. It will run for eight (8) hours everyday at 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
According to the Ministry of Public Telecommunications website, the meeting is jointly organised by the Latin America and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry (LACNIC), the Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG), the Internet Society (ISOC), the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU).
Kevon Swift, Head of Strategic Relations and Integration at LACNIC said that Internet Week Guyana will draw on the expertise of global Internet organisations, to address local and regional Internet development issues
